Context

The operating system for emerging fund managers.

Tilt Protocol lets anyone create, manage, and distribute a hedge-fund-like strategy on the Robinhood Layer 2 blockchain. Investors browse, choose, and allocate to 2/20 vaults like they're picking a Spotify playlist — except the portfolio manager on the other end can be a human, a quant, or an autonomous AI agent.

We're expanding into AI-powered trading agents. We need an intern who can own this project end-to-end — architecture, implementation, and public-facing content. This challenge simulates the real job.

Why this matters

This isn't a take-home. It's a preview of the actual job.

Show us how you think, build, and communicate. We're hiring one person to own the live AI trading battle infrastructure, run daily Twitter and Reddit updates, and ship public-facing content that the entire crypto-fintech world will see.

How you think

We want architectural taste, trade-off awareness, and the ability to defend a technical choice without hiding behind buzzwords.

How you build

Scope honestly. Cost realistically. Pick tools you can actually operate — not the shiniest stack in a VC pitch deck.

How you communicate

Trading agents live or die by distribution. Can you turn model outputs into a story that competitors notice?

What we're looking for

Three pillars. No single right answer.

We value original thinking and clear reasoning over complexity. The best submissions are opinionated, honest about trade-offs, and visibly aware of their own limits.

Pillar 0101

Research & Architecture

What agentic architecture will you use for AI-driven trading — and why is it the right call over the alternatives?

Which agent architecture will you use, and why this one?

Reference real papers, magazines, web sources, or your own original design.

Data-driven, scientifically or trial-and-error proven approach.

The anti-pattern we don't want

“Just ask ChatGPT what stock to buy.” That's the laziest possible approach. We want architectures that are thoughtful, defensible, and aware of their own failure modes.

You don't need to replicate this exactly — use it as inspiration for what a multi-agent trading system can look like. Simplicity is the key.

Implementation Plan

Plan how you'd actually build it — tools, infra, LLMs, data sources, cost, and timeline. Trading runs in Tilt's isolated test environment, so we don't need a finished product. We need a plan we believe.

Agentic framework: OpenClaw, Claude Agents, CrewAI, LangGraph, or something else?

Infrastructure: local machine or cloud? Which provider — and why?

Data sources: where will your agents get market data to process and analyze?

LLM selection: choose up to 7 LLMs for the AI battle. Justify each.

Monthly cost: total cost to run all agents — with the breakdown.

Build timeline: how long will setup take? Be realistic, not impressive.

Pillar 0303

Analysis & Go-to-Market

Can you think like a founder? This pillar tests whether you understand users, market dynamics, and content strategy — not just engineering.

Distribution: what channels will you use, and why?

Competitors: which other projects showcase AI trading battles? What traction do they get?

Why do some succeed and some fail?

Target audience: who are they, where do they live, and what's their pain point?

What catches their attention? What sentiment exists in the AI trading space today?

Pillar 02 · Detailed brief

Your implementation plan, line by line.

Trading is executed inside Tilt Protocol's isolated test environment. We don't expect a final working result — we want a solid, implementable plan that covers each of these six boxes.

Agentic Framework

OpenClaw · Claude Agents · CrewAI · LangGraph · Custom?

Infrastructure

Local or cloud? Which provider — and why?

Data Sources

Where do your agents get market data from?

LLM Selection

Choose up to 7 LLMs for the battle. Justify each.

Monthly Cost

Show the line-item breakdown to run everything.

Build Timeline

Be realistic, not impressive. We prefer honest.

Submission format

Keep it tight. Quality over quantity.

We estimate this takes 4–8 hours, not 40. Concise submissions beat bloated ones. We've read 400-page pitch decks — don't write one.

Deliverable

Slide deck (PDF or PPTX)

  • Max 10 slides — be concise
  • Include diagrams, not just text
  • Code repos welcome but optional
  • Working prototype = bonus, not required
Expected effort

4–8 focused hours

Not 40. We'd rather see a sharp 6-hour submission than a sprawling weekend marathon. Pick your battles and cut mercilessly.

We also respect your time — if you're stretched thin, ship a focused MVP of the deck.

What you'll ship

The live AI trading battle

Infrastructure, daily Twitter and Reddit updates, and public-facing content.

Full ownership and freedom. You won't be managed into a corner — you'll build the product and own the narrative.
